“Thy Kingdom Come”: Christian Nationalism and the Rise of the Technofascist Regime

When Trump declared, “I am your retribution,” it wasn’t merely political rhetoric—it was a messianic invocation. In the swelling tide of Trump 2.0, right-wing Christian nationalism is not a fringe movement—it is the ideological engine greasing the machinery of a consolidated technofascist regime.

This is not a theocracy in the traditional sense. We are not witnessing a simple return to puritanical rule. What we see is the synthesis of capitalist authoritarianism with the symbolic and organizational power of Christian nationalism—a theologically-coded political formation weaponized to discipline the domestic working class, mobilize a reactionary base, and sanctify imperial violence at home and abroad.

A Divine Mandate for Domination

Christian nationalism has always functioned as an ideological veil for colonial conquest. From the Doctrine of Discovery to Manifest Destiny, the fusion of whiteness, property, and divine right has been essential to American statecraft. What Trump 2.0 represents is the full-blown resurrection of this tradition in a digital age—sanctified through megachurches, algorithmic evangelism, and a politics of apocalyptic retribution.

Under technofascism, Christian nationalism doesn’t just bless the empire—it becomes its moral operating system. It tells the armed cop that he’s a soldier of Christ. It tells the corporate monopolist that his wealth is God’s reward. It tells the settler that the border is sacred. And it tells the dispossessed to suffer, wait, and obey.

Militancy, Masculinity, and Mass Surveillance

The new regime is deeply masculinist—glorifying militarism, submission to hierarchy, and patriarchal order. In Trump 2.0’s America, the Christian nationalist becomes both shock troop and sacred shield. Armed militias are baptized as defenders of liberty, and surveillance is sold as the divine eye of law and order.

Platforms like Gab and Truth Social serve as digital churches where scripture is laced with memes, and prophecy merges with propaganda. Silicon Valley oligarchs—who once posed as secular futurists—now flirt openly with religious authoritarianism, finding in Christian nationalism a useful partner to discipline labor, regulate sexuality, and neutralize dissent.

Technofascism doesn’t fear religion; it co-opts it. The regime doesn’t want faith—it wants fanaticism.

The “Culture War” as Class War

Christian nationalism offers moral panic as a substitute for material analysis. It redefines structural crises as spiritual decay: homelessness becomes godlessness, queerness becomes sin, and poverty is framed as divine punishment for sloth.

This is not accidental. It is ideological counterinsurgency. Rather than organizing the working class against the corporate oligarchs and war profiteers devouring their futures, the Christian nationalist project scapegoats the most vulnerable—immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, feminists, secular educators, and non-Christian communities.

Trump’s alliance with Christian nationalist forces allows his regime to gut labor rights, deregulate capital, and militarize the state—all while proclaiming a defense of “family values.” In truth, it is the family as fascist cell—the private property of the patriarch, a domestic order that mirrors and reproduces the technofascist state.

From Crusade to Cyber-State

The fusion of Christian nationalism and technofascism represents a qualitative transformation. The Christian Right no longer operates as an interest group lobbying the state. It is the state—merged with oil, arms, finance, and digital capital. From Project 2025 to Moms for Liberty, the school board to the Supreme Court, a broad neofascist movement has emerged to colonize every institution of civic life with holy war ideology.

The enemy is no longer just secular liberalism—it’s the very notion of democracy. And the battlefield is everywhere: classrooms, libraries, border towns, courtrooms, TikTok, Gaza.

This is not a return to tradition. It is a 21st-century crusade. It is a digital dominionism backed by billionaires, armed by militias, coded in algorithms, and sanctified by scripture.

Toward a Revolutionary Humanism

If technofascism is the fusion of Big Tech, Big Oil, Big Banks, and Big Brother under the banner of divine order, then our response must be a revolutionary humanism grounded in material solidarity. We must expose the class function of Christian nationalism, reject its divine justifications for suffering and hierarchy, and build a political counterforce capable of organizing across lines of race, gender, and belief.

Faith in the people, not in empire. Justice rooted in liberation, not domination. Against Trump’s counterfeit Kingdom, we must build something real—together.
